Orlando Magic present: Hoops & Heels

We teased this idea around two years ago and it's finally taking place! The Orlando Magic are hosting a female specific networking, learning and game event. Hoops & Heels - Check out all the details and come hang out with your fellow LadyBallers!

LB Update

Although our LadyBallers didn’t have a "Dwightmare" type exit, we have been on the DL due to life speeding up.

Orlando Magic: “WE WILL”

wewillOrlando Magic team up local advertising firm, Great Big Circle, to create the new slogan which was designed to promise fans and partners that the Magic will rebuild. Welcome the unveil of the New Marketing Campaign:WE WILL

Resiliency, it's true, the Orlando Magic have that for sure. We were new, we were amazing, we were mild, we were close and now, refreshing again. The Magic have unveiled a new marketing campaign, “WE WILL.” This rebranded hopes to ‘turns the page’ on the next chapter in Orlando Magic history. The Magic report that "as the team and the Magic brand continue to grow, this evolution speaks to the Magic’s continued desire to put a championship product on and off the court." I apprecaite that but really, what team that isn't in the elite eight doesn't have desire like that? I do hope this new full force will help push Orlando into a new realm and really "believe"!

Make The Climb!

Being a lover of all things Philly, I follow updates on Twitter for key words. Recently a story popped up that touched me in so many ways. Check out this woman’s journey to fulfill a life long dream of climbing the “Rocky Steps” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Glenda Watson Hyatt was born with cerebral palsy, mostly affecting her muscle coordination, balance and speech, created her drive and determination to live life to the fullest even more prominent. This “this I’ll-do-it-myself girl” really exudes the definition of amazing.

NBA All-Star Orlando 2012

If I had to describe Orlando All Star Weekend 2012 in one word it would be, LEGENDARY. And since I am going through withdrawals this weekend, I thought I would relive it by posting all about it.

All-Star Weekend Is Here!

It's here: Orlando All-Star Weekend! Let the madness begin...

This is my first All-Star weekend and I have no idea what to expect. My packed schedule kicks off tonight as I am attending orientation for the 2012 NBA All-Star Jam Session all week. I am working a private event tomorrow night which is rumored to be a Magic

season ticket holder event, Thursday afternoon, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. I am looking forward to meeting pumped fans and all those attending from celebrities, players to sports professionals.

Alex Honnold: Penalty For Error Is Certain Death

alexWhen I saw the 60 minutes special: "The Ascent of Alex Honnold," I couldn’t even fathom the thought of free solo climbing. I am not sure I could ever even dream of doing the climbs that were featured even if I could use ropes. Now, I am by no means a climber but I have done in-door and well… that seems hard (but FUN) to me. I can’t even imagine hanging from my fingertips with one false move leading to a quick, painful fall resulting in my death.
This seriously takes dedication, practice and focus. When this special dove into his life, it literally is all he does. He lives out of his van and goes after climb after climb.

LadyBallers Are Back! What's Up 2012?

Hey, Hey, Colleen here!

So I will be the first to admit, the LadyBallers were out of comission as we were devestated by the NBA lockout. Yes, it's silly but personally it hit a sensative spot with me and "politics" in the sports world. Yes, I am aware politics will always be a part of sports but it really stinks when it overshadowns all the amazing things about the sportsword; Passion, True Talnet, Fun and Excitement! AllStar

So, like I do with x-boyfriends who don't apologize for being liars, I have to be the bigger person and move forward and just forgive them. So, NBA, I officially forgive you for taking a break... I still love you. And yes, I know this blog and community is more than basketball and the NBA but it did start there.

Featured Athlete: A.J. Rompza

The NBA lockout is still going on, WHACK! But basketball will still be going down in Orlando. The UCF Knights kicked off the season on Nov 5th against West VA Tech!

AJNow, AJ isn't just a UCF basketball player, he is one of the most positive people I have ever encountered! His twitter account is a must follow (@A3Rompza) filled with positive anecdotes, tweets of determination and of course some comical relief but the boys got skills! If you haven't seen this its a must watch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYjOScGcGps

In a sports world filled with cocky players, players getting arrested or doing anything other then playing the game they love, it was refreshing to come across such a young, vibrant, and talented player with such a positive outlook on life and a true love for the game. He nevers takes a day for granted and reminded me to do the same, AJ thank you for your inspiration! GO KNIGHTS!
